JOHN SIMON Died Here Thursday

John Hubert Simon of Winterset died Thursday, Oct. 31, 1963, at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Warren Benge of this community. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Simon was a native of Warren county, where he was born Oct. 18, 1901, a son of John and Luella Starbuck Simon. Most of his life was spent in the Thayer and Lorimor communities. He had been at Winterset the last two years.

He was married at Indianola Dec. 18, 1920, to Gertrude Benge, who survives him.

Mr. Simon was a member of the Ord Christian Union church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves, a son Robert L. Simon of Murray; a daughter, Mrs. John G. Grodt of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Lee R. Simon of Mesa, Ariz.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the First Baptist church of Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Glynn Ensor of Creston.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
