RALPH SHAKLEE, PATTERSON, DIES

Death Occurred Thursday at Nursing Home in Omaha

Ralph H. Shaklee of Patterson died Thursday, May 25, at a nursing home in Omaha, Nebr. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Shaklee had been a resident of Madison county since 1911. He was born near Summerset Nov. 1, 1888, a son of Robert and Martha Jane Overton Shaklee.

Mr. Shaklee was employed for many years as a high pressure boiler fireman by the U.S. government at Ft. Des Moines. He had been retired in recent years.

He was married June 20, 1914 at Patterson to Mary Etta Salsbury. Her death occurred in 1964. A son, Roland, died in 1921.

He was a member of the Patterson Methodist church.

He is survived by a son, Lyle Shaklee of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Harley Wheeler of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Forest Clell Shaklee of Castro Valley, Calif.; and a sister, Celicy Broughman of Oakland, Minn.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Patterson Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. James Louk. Burial was made in Mt. Pelier cemetery at Patterson.
