DENNIS HAYDEN of Peru Dies

Dennis G. Hayden of Peru, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1970, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Hayden was a retired railroad man. He was born in Madison County, Nov. 8, 1890, a son of Elijah and Martha Ann Hogg Hayden. He was married at Murray on Feb. 25, 1917, to Mary Sanders, who survives him.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Merle G. Hayden of Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Claude Simmons of Winterset; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Hayden of St. Charles and Ted Hayden of Lorimor; and a sister, Mrs. Rosa Kirsch of Winterset.

One daughter, Mrs. Frieda Beedle,(sp) preceded him in death.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Grace Baptist church in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Williams and the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Burial as to be made in the Peru cemetery.
