Robert Searl, Truro

Funeral services were held today at Kale Funeral Home in Truro for Robert Milton Searl of Truro, who died Sunday, Dec. 6, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years old.

Born in Barney on June 11, 1907, he was the son of Arthur and Sadie Gilbert Searl. He was educated in Barney and Peru schools.

On Nov. 9, 1928 he married Florence Mae Palmer in Newton. Five children were born to the union.

Mr. Searl farmed in Clarke and Madison counties, retiring in 1968.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Roberta; a brother, Harris Nichols; and a sister, Margaret Mills.

Surviving are his wife, Florence; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Harper of St. Charles, Mrs. Velda James and Evalene Hannah of Urbandale; a son, David Searl of Lorimor; a sister, Pauline Austin of Peru; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Barney Cemetery.
