Wayne Delmar Seams, 81, of St. James, Mo., died of pneumonia Feb. 25, 2001 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Duane Churchman officiating. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, Feb. 28) after 4 p.m. with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery.
Wayne Seams was born Feb. 26, 1919 to Ulmont and Ethel (Howell) Seams of Swan. He spent most of his life in the Truro and St. Charles areas, graduating from the Truro Consolidated Schools in 1939. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army during World War II as a combat infantryman. After the war ended, Wayne worked many years for Solar Aircraft and the U. S. Forest Service. He also was a longtime member of American Legion Post 470 of Plato, Mo., V.F.W. and Disabled American Veterans Association. He moved to Missouri 13 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
He is survived by a son, Rick Seams (wife Karen) of Lebanon, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
