D. I. WHITCOMB DIES AT ADEL, AT 80 YEARS

D. I. Whitcomb, formerly of near Winterset, died March 19 at Adel, where he had lived for 33 years. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Whitcomb was born at Spirit Lake, and as a young man lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. Returning to Iowa, he settled near Winterset where he engaged in farming, and later was in the plumbing business here.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Raymond Whitcomb of Adel, and Roland Whitcomb of Albany, Calif.; and two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Kluckholn of LeMars and Mrs. Herbert Stern of Albany, Calif.

Funeral services and burial were held at Adel.
