JEFF PAXTON DIES AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Had Lived With Brother on Farm Near Van Meter for 43 Years

Jeff Paxton, former Madison county resident, died at the Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset Monday afternoon, March 31, after several years of failing health. Mr. Paxton, who was 76 years of age, had lived with his brother, Ross Paxton of their farm near Van Meter for the past 43 years.

A son of George Anderson and Margaret Oldham Paxton, Jeff Paxton was born in the Fairview neighborhood of Madison county, Nov. 30, 1865 (1875). He grew to manhood on the farm but later moved to Dallas county. He leaves his brother, Ross, and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Gebhardt of Conway, and Miss Inez Paxton of Los Angeles.

The Rev. William Suckow, pastor of the United Brethren church, will conduct his funeral services at the Fisher Funeral home in Van Meter Thursday afternoon, April 3, and burial is to be made in the Fairview cemetery.
