William P. Scott, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Sunday, December 15 at his home in Truro. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Scott was born near Truro March 31, 1885, a son of Princeton W. and Edwina Wiggins Scott. His life was spent in farming. He was married at Winterset on Sept. 19, 1905 to Mary Agnes Howelette. Her death occurred in 1955.
There are no surviving children. Closest relatives are a brother, Frank Scott of Truro; and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Travis of Truro, Mrs. Edith Read of Winterset and Mrs. Gertrude Weed of Orient.
Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of Rev. Arthur Weed of Orient. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery near Truro.
