Howard H. Scott, Prairie City

Howard Hollis Scott, 90, died of a heart attack Nov. 7, 2001 at Clear View Manor in Prairie City.

Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 9 at Winterset Cemetery with Pastor Kurt Anderson officiating.

Howard Scott was born July 31, 1911 to John H. and Lillian Grace (Kibbie) Scott of Foster, Neb. He married Ruth A. Rogers on Sept. 28, 1945 in Winterset. He grew up in Nebraska and also lived Newton and Colfax. An Army veteran of World War II, Howard was a retired inspector for the Maytag Company in Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and a sister.

He is survived by two daughters, Amber McClain (husband Larry) of Adair and Ramona J. Miller (husband Glenn) of Colfax; two brothers, Clarence Scott of Norfolk, Neb., and Edwin Scott of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park chapel in Winterset.
