ISABELLE WHITEHEAD, Winterset

Bertha Isabelle Whitehead, 85, died at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset on Jan. 7, 2007, following a long struggle with complications due to stroke.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today, Jan. 10, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, where family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery in Lorimor. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Lorimor or to the Middle River Hospice in Winterset.

Isabelle was born on June 12, 1921, near Sewell, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Frannie (Smith) Eischen. She was a graduate of Lorimor High School and taught country school following her graduation. In May 1942 she married Charles Whitehead. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lorimor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; their son, Dennis Whitehead of Williamsburg; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset.
