EDWARD SCHWADERER

Edward Schwaderer, the son of Carl and Selma Weimer Schwaderer, was born near Waukee in Dallas County, Iowa on August 20, 1894. He passed away February 19, 1982 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

During his youth the family lived in the Dexter and Stuart areas and later moved to the Guthrie Center Community.

On June 22, 1915 Ed was united in marriage to Goldie Mae Allen. They farmed together in the Guthrie Center community until they retired and moved to Earlham in 1972.

Ed enjoyed his retirement years in Earlham and made many friends in the community.

In November 1980 failing health made it necessary for him to make his home at Madison Manor in Winterset and later at the Earlham Care Center.

Survivors include his three children: Mrs. Lela Slaybaugh of Earlham, Carl of Guthrie Center and Carroll of Ankeny; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Schwaderer of Guthrie Center and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Thomas of Carlisle and Mrs.Frieda Turk of Phoenix, Arizona.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Goldie who passed away in 1974 and two brothers.

Funeral services were conducted at the McKee Funeral Home in Earlham, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m. on February 22, 1982 and at the First Christian Church of Guthrie Center, Iowa, at 1:30 p.m. February 22, 1982 with the Rev. Jerry D. Palmer officiating. Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Debbie Coffman. Casket bearers were Lawrence Burkhardt, Clyde Davis, Willard Dayton, Roger Garloch, Robert Leib and Bill Schwaderer. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center, Iowa.
