Graveside services for Earl E. Schwabe, 77, Winterset, who died Jan. 25 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines, were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at the McDonald-Chase Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Military graveside rites were also provided by VFW post No. 8142 of Winterset.
Born in Casey on Nov. 6, 1917, he was the son of John and Stella Baker Schwabe. He was a retired truck driver for National By-Products Co.
On Feb. 10, 1943, he was married to Geraldine Marie Parkinson at Maryville, Mo. Mr. Schwabe, an Army veteran of World War II, had lived here 42 years, coming from Adair.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Glen E. of Des Moines, Dennis of Winterset and Rickie Lee of Monroe; a daughter, Cindy Lu Clark of Winterset; sisters, Catherine Murphy, Marjorie Nathanson and Elaine Schwabe; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
