WILLIAM A. RYNER DIED HERE WEDNESDAY

William A. Ryner, prominent Union township farmer and long-time resident here, died this Wednesday morning, March 12, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Ryner had been in delicate health for some time, as result of a heart condition. He became seriously ill March 4, and had been a patient at the hospital since that time.

Funeral services have been set for 10:30 a.m. this Friday from the Winterset Presbyterian church, in charge of the Rev. Clement Loehr. Burial will be made in the North River U. B. cemetery.

RITES HELD HERE FOR W. A. RYNER

Widely-Known Union Township Farmer Died Here March 12

Willie A. Ryner, whose death occurred Wednesday, March 12, at the Memorial hospital, was a life-long resident of Union township. Born there Aug. 1, 1879, a son of Jacob and Lizzie Henderson Ryner, he was 72 years of age at his death.

Mr. Ryner had been taken to the Memorial hospital on March 4, after suffering a stroke.

Mr. Ryner was one of Madison county's most widely known citizens, and long was active in public affairs. For 45 years he had been a member of Madison lodge, I.O.O.F. at Winterset, and was also affiliated with Crown Rebekah lodge No. 360, for 43 years. He served as a director in the Madison county Farm Mutual Insurance association for 31 years, and for 27 years had been a director of the Farmer's Cooperative Grain Dealers' association. He had been agent for the Hawkeye Hail Insurance company for six years.

He had united with the North River United Brethren church as a young man, and in 1932 transferred to the Winterset Presbyterian church, where he had since been a member.

Mr. Ryner was married Dec. 12, 1906, to Edith M. Woods, also of Union township. They were the parents of four children, a son and a daughter dying in infancy.

He is survived by his wife; one son, William A. Ryner of Union township; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne B. Detrick of Winterset; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. W. H. Lull of Union township.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the First Presbyterian church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Clement D. Loehr. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery in Jefferson township, with grave-side services in charge of the Winterset Odd Fellows lodge.
