Mary L. Schulz, rural Orient

Services for Mary L. Schulz, 65, rural Orient, who died May 23 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held Friday, May 27 at the Wesley Chapel Church with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Hebron Cemetery in Adair County.

Born in Afton on Dec. 23, 1922, she was the daughter of Edward and Hazel Boyer Stroeber. She was married to Rex Schulz on Feb. 12, 1941 in Madison County.

Mrs. Schulz was a member of the Wesley Chapel, a district officer of the United Methodist Women, the Friendly Neighbor Garden Club, the Hawthorne Rebecca Lodge in Macksburg and was Sunday school superintendent.

Survivors include her husband; her mother; sons, Ronald of Stateline, Nev., and Donald and wife Cindy of Macksburg; daughters, Patricia and husband Charles Radtke of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Pamela Schulz of Cedar Falls; a brother, Robert Stroeber and wife Naomi of West Des Moines; a brother-in-law, Ross Johnson; a sister-in-law, Elva Stroeber; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother and a sister.
