MRS. FRED CLOPTON DIES IN MISSOURI

Funeral Rites Here Monday With Burial in Local Cemetery

Mrs. Fred Clopton, a former resident of Madison county, died at the hospital in Macon, Mo., Friday, Feb. 22, after a heart attack. She was 70 years of age.

Mrs. Clopton was the former Ethel Cridling, daughter of John and Laura Cridling, and was born April 11, 1881, in Worth county, Mo. In 1892, she came with her parents to Madison county, and here she was married on Nov. 12, 1902, to Fred Clopton. They lived in this community until 1919. They were parents of four daughters, one dying in infancy.

She was a member of the Christian church and Eastern Star lodge.

She leaves her husband, Fred Clopton of Macon; three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Krueger of Alexandria, Minn., and Mrs. Alice Kibler and Mrs. Ruth Richardson of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred H. Wilkinson of Winterset and Mrs. Sadie Darnall of Indianola.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Christian church at Macon, in charge of the Rev. Wilbur Watkins, and in Winterset Monday from the Richards funeral home, with the Rev. Sherman Hanson, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
