Death Occurred Saturday at Home in Lorimor; Aged 63 Years
Mrs. Ralph Saxton, well-known resident of Lorimor, died Saturday, Feb. 2, at her home there. She was 63 years of age.
Mrs. Saxton was the former Bertha Pinckney, daughter of Leo and Della Pinckney and was born near Macksburg on July 1, 1899. She was married to Ralph Saxton.
Their married life was spent in Lorimor, where Mr. Saxton operated the Saxton Auto company except for three years in Winterset. Mr. Saxton died June 13, 1962.
She was a member of the Lorimor Methodist church, and was active in the women's clubs and organizations of that church.
She is survived by two sons, Galen Saxton of Creston and Paul Saxton of Ames; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Corsbie of Lorimor and Mrs. Carol Thomas of Cambria; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Pratt of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Lorimor Methodist church conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Tom Harlon. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

LORIMOR—Mrs. Bertha Saxton was found dead this morning in her home at Lorimor.
Her body is at the Watts-Soll funeral home in Lorimor. Funeral arrangements are not complete.
Mrs. Saxton is survived by two sons, Galen of Creston and Paul; two daughters, Mrs. Loraine Corsbie of Lorimor and Mrs. Carol Thomas; and several grandchildren.
Her husband, Ralph Saxton, preceded her in death last summer.

Bertha Fern Pinckney, daughter of Leo N. and Della Blair Pinckney, was born July 1, 1899, in Madison County, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Lorimor on February 2, 1963, at the age of 63 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
She grew to womanhood near Macksburg, attending school there. She was united in marriage to Ralph B. Saxton on April 28, 1920. They made their home in Lorimor all their married years with the exception of a short time when they resided in Winterset. To this union were born 4 children, Mrs. Lorene Corsbie of Lorimor, Mrs. Carol Thomas of Cambria, Galen Saxton of Creston, and Paul Saxton of Ames.
She was an active member of the Methodist Church and Women’s Society.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Florence Pratt of Winterset, her two sons, two daughters, and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband by about 7 months.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a devout Christian, and enjoyed her friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Feb. 4, 1963 at Methodist church, Lorimor with Rev Harlen officiating. Burial was in Moon cemetery, Macksburg.
