Funeral services for G. Marie Sawyers, 93, were held Thurs., Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Mrs. Sawyers died December 22 at Bethesda Care Center, where she was a resident.
A Winterset resident since age six, she was born to Alfred and Nanny (Eyerly) Young September 26, 1989 in Adair County. She married George Sawyers December 21, 1917 in Madison County, moving to Winterset in 1984 after his death. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
Survivors include four nephews, three nieces and several cousins.
Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
