Former Madison County Man Had Lived in West for 20 Years
Claude Wight, former Madison county resident, who has resided in California for the past twenty years, died at his home in Monterey Park, a suburb of Los Angeles, January 17th. Mr. Wight, who was 74 years of age, had been ill with diabetis and complications for the past two years.
A son of George and Susan Wight, he was born in Webster township, April 27, 1877. He continued to reside in this county until he moved to California. His wife died in March 1950, and their only daughter has also preceded him in death. He leaves one sister, Mrs. C. Liner of Cove, Arkansas, his five other brothers and sisters having preceded him in death. He leaves a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Clark's Mortuary in Los Angeles, Saturday, January 19th, and burial was made in California.
A nephew, Harry Wight and his wife, of Webster township, who were visiting relatives and friends in California, were with him at his death.
