Long-Time Resident of This County Was 77 Years of Age
Mrs. Nora Jeffryes, long-time resident of Madison county and Winterset, died Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the home of Mrs. J. W. Wheeler, where she had been living recently. She was 77 years of age.
Mrs. Jeffryes was born April 13, 1874. She was married to George Jeffryes in 1891, at Fontanelle. His death occurred in 1936.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur F. Jeffryes of Des Moines and Floyd L. Jeffryes of Stockton, Alabama; and a number of grandchildren.
One son, Don E. Jeffryes, was killed in action in France in 1918 while serving with the American expeditionary forces during World War I.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed early Wednesday, pending word from the son in Alabama. They probably will be held Friday.
(Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery)
