OBITUARY

Princeton--Bert C. Sankey, 88, of Rockford, formerly of 601 Thompson St., died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 17, 1991, at St. Ann Center in Rockford.

Born Sept. 6, 1903, in Winterset, Iowa, to Robert and Nellie Sankey, he married Margaret Exner on Sept. 13, 1924, in Princeton. She died Sept. 30, 1989. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Curley, two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Bob of Princeton and Donald of Rockford; one sister, Hazel Ditsworth of Estherville, Iowa; one brother, Delbert of Garner, Iowa; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He farmed in the Princeton area for 22 years and later worked for Pioneer Seed Corn Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1968.

He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Princeton.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at his church, the Rev. Lowell Albee officiating. Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until time of services at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton. Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, is in charge of arrangements.
