Page 2, Column 5MAGGIE M. RUSH DIES IN ARIZONA
Her Death Occurs One Day After That of Her Son Russell Rush
Mrs. Maggie M. Rush of Winterset, who had been called to Phoenix, Ariz., by the fatal illness of her son, Russell Rush, died in that city Thursday May 26. Her death followed that of her son by one day.
Mrs. Rush was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was born near Van Meter on May 9, 1888, a daughter of Isaac and Louise Wetzel Grover. She was married at Van Meter on Jan. 16, 1907 to Orson Rush. He preceded her in death in 1943.
She was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset and of the Loyal Workers class.
About two months ago, she was called to Arizona by the illness of her son, Russell Rush. He died there last Wednesday, May 25, following heart surgery and her death occurred the next day, evidently precipitated by the shock of her son's death.
Mrs. Rush is survived by four sons, Robert Rush of Grand Junction, Colo., Carl Rush of Roseburg, Or., Guy Rush of Des Moines and Donald G. Rush of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Della L. Myers of Lincoln, Nebr., and a sister, Mrs. Anna Beam of Redfield. She also leaves 15 grandchildren.
Double funeral services were held Saturday in Phoenix for Mrs. Rush and Russell. Her body was returned to Winterset where services were to be held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial was to be made in the Jackson township cemetery.
