Joseph Slechta, who farmed for many years near St. Charles, died at a Winterset nursing home this Tuesday, Jan. 3. He had been a resident of the nursing home the last three years.
Mr. Slechta was a native of Bohemia, where he was born Nov. 12, 1877. He was not married, leaves no known relatives here, and little of his life's history is known.
The body was taken to the Maxwell Funeral home in Denison for services and burial in that community.
