RITES FRIDAY FOR MRS. RALPH CROUSE

Former Winterset Resident Died Sunday at Los Angeles

Mrs. Ralph Crouse, formerly a well known Winterset woman, died Sunday at a hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.

The body of Mrs. Crouse is being returned to Winterset for funeral services and burial. Arrangements had not been completed at press time, but the services will be held this Friday from Anderson's Funeral home.

Mrs. Crouse's death occurred after an illness of three months, as a result of a basal brain tumor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert Crouse, of Washington, D.C., and Junior Crouse of Mankato, Minn.

MRS. RALPH CROUSE BURIED AT WINTERSET

Services Held Last Friday From Methodist Church Here

Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Crouse, whose death occurred Sept. 2 at Inglewood, Calif., were held from the Winterset Methodist church last Friday, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Glenn Parrott. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Crouse was a native of Madison county, and spent much of her life here. She was born at Pitzer, May 9, 1890, a daughter of Joseph and Matilda Nicholson DeVault. As a young woman she attended Simpson college at Indianola and Iowa State college at Ames.

She was married to Ralph Crouse on Sept. 6, 1911, in the home of her parents at Pitzer. They lived for a number of years in Chicago and St. Louis, before returning to Winterset in 1919, where Mr. Crouse engaged in the electrical business. They lived here until 1938, when they moved to Washington, D.C. For the last four and a half years, their home had been in California.

Mrs. Crouse is survived by her husband; two sons, Ralph C. Crouse, Jr., of Mankato, Minn., and Robert L. Crouse of Washington; and six grandchildren.
