FORMER RESIDENT BURIED AT WINTERSET

Mrs. E. B. Cummins Died at Hospital in Corydon on Aug. 5

The body of a former school teacher in this community, Mrs. E. B. Cummins of Russell, was returned here Aug. 7 for burial in the Clark cemetery. Mrs. Cummins had died Aug. 5 at the hospital in Corydon.

The former Bernice Aldeth Hench, daughter of Daniel and Mary Hench, Mrs. Cummins was born in Cherokee county, Feb. 7, 1892. Her early life was spent at Belmond. She married Earl B. Cummins July 12, 1916, and they were the parents of two sons, one of whom died in infancy. Her husband died in 1947.

For the past three and a half years, she had been living with her son, Wayne Cummins of Russell. She was 59 years of age at her death.

In addition to the son, she leaves a granddaughter; and two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Swanberg and Mrs. Grace Swanberg, both of Sutherland.

Funeral services were held Aug. 7 from the Corydon Christian church.
