Rayymond Rogers Service Saturday

Retired brick mason Raymond A. Rogers, 71, of Winterset died at Memorial Hospital last Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1977. He was born in Winterset March 1, 1906, the son of A. R. and Jennie Myrtle Moore Rogers.

A lifetime resident of this community, Rogers was married to Estella Mae Johnston on October 17, 1926 in Corning, Iowa. She preceded her husband in death December 14, 1969.

He married Grace Nichols on June 12, 1974 in Winterset.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; three daughters, Genevieve Mills of Norwalk; Rose Marie Niblo of Winterset; Evelyn Spencer of Winterset; two sons, Leo Rogers of Winterset and Ralph Rogers of Heber Springs, Ark.; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel Smith of Winterset, Helen Pattee of Portland, Ore., Ruth Scott of Colfax, Iowa and one brother, Robert Rogers of Newton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Mae, his parents, a sister, Mary Smith and a brother, Chester.

Funeral services for Raymond A. Rogers were held Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. from Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev. Charles Updike officiating.

Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
