FUNERAL RITES FOR MELVIN HANN

Former Winterset Resident Died at Des Moines Thursday

Melvin Hann, former resident of this community, and member of a well-known family here, died Thursday, June 28, at a Des Moines hospital. His death followed a heart attack on June 19.

Mr. Hann was 55 years of age. He was popularly known as "Chuck" in this community. He was born on a farm near Winterset in 1892, and spent his entire life here until moving to Des Moines 21 years ago.

In 1916, he was married to Daisy Kitt. They were the parents of five children, all of whom survive their father. They are: Mrs. Dorothy Steffens, Mrs. Helen Lamberti and Mrs. Kathleen Collins, all of Ankeny, and Robert and Darrell Hann of Des Moines. He also leaves 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Walter and Styles Hann of Winterset and Forrest Hann of Greene; and a sister, Mrs. Verna Hartsook of Winterset.

In 1949, he was married to Dorothy Mosdale, with whom he was living until his death.

Funeral services in Des Moines were held Sunday from Hamilton's funeral home. The body was then brought to Winterset where services were conducted from the Church of Christ, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Sherman Hanson. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
