Permillia Jane, daughter of Henry and Mary Ann Pitts was born October 29, 1873 in Dallas county, Iowa and departed this life April 19, 1951, at the Restorium in West Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 77 years, five months, and 20 days.
She was married to William Wagnor, who preceded her in death. To this union were born three children. One died in infancy and the two living are: Mrs. Burl Mendenhall of Madrid, and Mrs. E. L. Keller of Urbandale.
Later in life she was married to Richard Mendenhall, who also preceded her in death. Her entire life was spent in Iowa. After coming to Earlham she united with the Friends church in 1926, of which she has been a faithful member until her death. She leaves in passing, her two daughters, Mrs. Burl Mendenhall and Mrs. Corda Keller, one sister, Mrs. Lydia Countryman, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Friends church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. Arthur Hadley officiating. Burial was in Earlham cemetery.
