CHARLES SIMPSON Services Held Last Friday

Charles L. Simpson of Winterset, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Tuesday, July 2, 1968, at his home here. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Simpson was born in this county Feb. 19, 1906, a son of Elias and Hannah Johnson Simpson. He was married in Albany, Mo., on May 7, 1927, to Evelyn Rickets. They farmed near Barney until about 20 years ago when they moved to Winterset. He worked in the heating and plumbing business for a time, then became a custodian in the Winterset Community schools, working at both the high school and the North ward buildings. He also did special work with the city police force.

He was a member of the Barney Christian church.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Karl Cumings of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Wight and Mrs. Frances Handley of Winterset.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Samp of Winterset.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
