ELLEN ADDY DIES AT AGE OF 91 YEARS

Death Occurred Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Winterset

Eliza Ellen Addy, a resident of Madison county since 1881, and a former school teacher here, died Thursday March 15, at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 91 years of age.

Miss Addy was a native of Ohio, where she was born in Guernsey county on March 22, 1859. She was a daughter of Marion and Hannah Davis Addy. She was the last surviving member of a family of 11 children.

She came to Madison county with her parents in 1881. They made the trip in a covered wagon. Most of her life was spent on the farm northeast of Winterset which her parents purchased in 1882.

For several years she had lived in Winterset at the home of Mrs. Alma Williams. She was taken to the local hospital about a week prior to her death.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the United Brethren church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William Suckow. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
