Johnnie Robshaw, South Dakota

Johnnie R. Robshaw, 72, of Valley Springs, S.D. died of a heart attack April 16, 2001 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, S. D. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, April 18) beginning at noon, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.

Johnnie Robshaw was born Feb. 2, 1929 to Henry and Ethel (Morgan) Robshaw of Peru. He was educated in the Peru School District. He also played baseball in school, moving up to the Minor League. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Follwing his discharge, he began working for John Deere Company in Des Moines. He married Juanita Miller on June 20, 1953 in Peru. Johnnie and his wife moved to Omaha, Neb., where he was employed with Vickers for over 10 years. He also served with the Coast Guard on the Missouri River. They later moved to the Sioux Falls/Valley Springs, S. D. area where he began employment at Dual Manufacturing in 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Valley Springs; two sons, George Robshaw (wife Cindy) and Johnnie M. Robshaw (wife Carol) both of Sioux Falls, S. D.; four daughters, Lorretta Egert (husband Greg) of Sioux Falls, Teresa Gehrke (husband Carl) of Beaver Creek, Minn., Brenda Mathers (husband Bill) of Valley Springs, S. D., and Robin Anderson (husband Bob) of Harrisburg, S. D.; a sister, Mary Rhone of Peru; a sister-in-law, Doris Robshaw of Bondurant; and 16 grandchildren.
