Long Illness Ends for Well Known Farmer in This Community
Pearl S. Welch, a well known farmer in Lincoln and Walnut townships for 41 years, died Tuesday evening, March 6 at the home of his son, Wano Welch of near Peru. Death resulted from a heart ailment.
Mr. Welch was 64 years of age. He had been in failing health for a long time, and had been bedfast the last year.
Born in Madison county, the son of John T. and Martha Kennedy Welch, he was a life-long resident here. He was married Feb. 22, 1910 to Pearle Macumber. They were the parents of the one son.
In addition to the wife and son, he is survived by one grandchild; and a brother, Seldon Welch of Winterset. Funeral services had not been completed Wednesday, pending notification of relatives at a distance.
