Doris Emaline, daughter of James R. and Catherine Rodman, was born in Stronghourst, Illinois, July 21, 1872. At the age of two years, she moved with her parents, to Iowa, where he lived most of her life.
At an early age she joined the Christian church, to which she remained faithful to the end.
In 1923 she moved with members of her family to Los Angeles, California where she lived until her death which occurred on April 5, 1951.
She leaves several nieces and nephews, of whom Mrs. John H. Golightly and Mrs. Royal Compton, are of this community; Mrs. Ervin England of Perry, Missouri; Lyle Bonner of Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. Chas. H. Bush, Mr. Walter G. Shaw and Ernest Boyd, of Alhambra, California.
Services were in charge of S. C. Welch of Earlham and The Alhambra Funeral Home, of Alhambra, California. Burial was in the family plot, at Worthington cemetery.
Grave service was held, Rev. Arthur Hadley officiating.
