OBITUARY

James William Pearson was born on a farm in Madison county near Pitzer, on September 17, 1904 to Samuel Henry and Emily Jane Pearson and passed away at the age of 46 years, six months, and 12 days at San Lorenzo, California. He was married to Gladys Garrett February 8th, 1927 who passed away January 10, 1942.

He was a farmer until about 1938 when he became an employee of the Adel Clay Products Company. In June 1942 he enlisted in the Army and served in England almost three years. When he returned he worked at the Iowa Soya Co. He had an oil service station in Redfield.

In 1948 he went to California where he was employed at the Trogan Powder Company until the time of his death. Jim, as he was known to his friends, was a member of the Redfield American Legion Post No. 261.

He was a kind and loving brother and will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, Leonard Linn Pearson of Winterset; Milton Leroy Pearson of Earlham; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Smith of Earlham; Mrs. Rosa Smith of Redfield; Mrs. Doris Kalbach of Dexter; and Mrs. Grace Poerink of Hayward, California, and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held at the Earlham Methodist church in charge of the pastor, C. A. Crouse. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.

The Redfield American Legion Post No. 261 had charge of the services at the cemetery.
