Bernice Sirdoreus, 85, of Winterset died of congestive heart failure May 18, 2003, at Winterset Care Center North.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 21) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bob Epperson and eulogist Rose Wiig officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Bernice Sirdoreus was born May 4, 1918, in Denver, Colo., to Thomas and Una (Pierce) Madden. On Nov. 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Homer R. Sirdoreus. Bernice had been a homemaker and spent most of her life in Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Jim Willis.
She is survived by three sons, Jack Willis of Clive, Fred Sirdoreus of Runnels and Ray Sirdoreus of Winterset; two daughters, Ruth Purscell of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Rose Wiig of Lexington, N.C., one sister, Joyce Bookwalter of Roseville, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
