HOMER R. SIRDOREUS, Winterset

Services for Homer R. Sirdoreus, 72, Winterset, who died June 23, 1987, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Friday, June 26, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8142.

Born at Eunice, Mo., on Feb. 28, 1915, he was the son of Fredrick and Nora Westerman Sirdoreus. On Nov. 15, 1945, he was married to Berniece Madden in Denver, Colo.

Mr. Sirdoreus spent most of his lifetime in Madison County and was a retired grain handler and had worked for M. Young and Co. and the Earlham Farmers Co-op. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Fred of Des Moines and Ray of Winterset; stepsons, Jack L. Willis of Des Moines and James Willis of Houston, Texas; daughters, Ruth Purscell of Winterset and Rose Mary Wiig of Lexington, N.C.; brothers, Roscoe of Norwalk, Harold of Kansas City, Mo., and Fred Jr. of Des Moines; sisters, Edna Garrison and Hazel Alcorn, both of Winterset; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
