Graveside services for Edward "Shorty" Singleton, 79, Winterset, who died January 21, 1990, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held at Witt Cemetery at Bridgewater with the Rev. Peter Quiring officiating.
Born at Bridgewater on October 2, 1910, he was the son of Thomas and Celia Anthony Singleton. Mr. Singleton was a maintenance man at Montgomery Ward in Creston. He had retired in 1966.
He had lived in Winterset for 16 years, coming from Creston. Mr. Singleton was a World War I Army veteran.
Survivors include a niece, Ila Staley of Winterset; nephews, Millard Power of Des Moines and Pete Carter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a great niece, Rosalie Mattea of Papillion, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and six sisters.
