Jay Rinard, a former Winterset resident, died at his home in Adelanto, California on Aug. 19 at the age of 47.
Born Oct. 28, 1934 in Polk county, he was the son of Donald and Alta Rinard.
He attended Winterset schools and joined the military at the age of 17.
In 1957 he married the former Shirley Morrow.
He was a career military man, retiring from the Air Force.
Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors include his mother; wife, Shirley; son, Chris; two brothers, Duane and Dick of Winterset; a sister, Bev McDonald of Winterset; half-brother, Cecil Moore of Des Moines and half-sister, Coleen Brown of Fairfield.
