Flossie Louise Ridout, 85, of Lorimor, died May 11, 2004 at Greenfield Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13 at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset where the family will be present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Flossie Ridout was born March 2, 1919 to Fred and Hattie Lenore (Banta) Shearer of St. Charles. On Oct. 5, 1936, she married Wayne S. Ridout in Madison County. A homemaker, Flossie had resided in Madison and Adair counties all her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Wendell S. Ridout; and two grandsons, Kenny Ridout and Ron Hubbs.

She is survived by three sons, Bill Ridout and Gary Ridout, both of Lorimor and Ray Ridout of Van Meter; one daughter, Karen Jordan of Clive; a sister, Audrey Stone of Des Moines; and 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
