F. C. GILLESPIE DIES NEAR GOWRIE

Graduate of Macksburg High School Left County in 1931

Forest Clair Gillespie, former Madison county resident, died at his home near Gowrie last Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the age of 44 years. He had been in poor health for several months, but a sudden heart attack caused his death.

Mr. Gillespie, a son of George A. and Julia Reinmuth Gillespie, was born Jan. 31, 1906, at Redfield, but came to this county soon afterwards with his parents. He spent his boyhood in the Macksburg community, and was graduated from that high school. He attended the Wells Congregational church near his home.

He moved to Webster county, near Gowrie in 1931, and had resided in that community since then. He was married to Margaret L. Schoeberlein, Dec. 20, 1941, and they were the parents of two sons.

He is survived by his wife, the sons, Donald Dean, aged 7 and Duane Clair, aged four. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Marie Fox of Winterset and Mrs. Ed Combs of Greenfield, and a brother, Lyle Gillespie of Ft. Dodge.

The Rev. Robert Williams of Gowrie conducted his funeral service at the Methodist church in Farnhamville Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13 at two o'clock and burial was made in the Gowrie cemetery.
