Death Occurred Wednesday At Hospital Here After Long Illness
Mrs. Otto R. Beeler, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset last Wednesday, Jan. 3, after an extended illness. She was 57 years of age, and had been in failing health for the past year.
Mrs. Beeler was the former Nina Belle Porter, daughter of Fletcher and Alberta Porter. She was born near Truro Dec. 15, 1893. On Nov. 27, 1913, she was married at Truro to Otto R. Beeler. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive their mother.
Mrs. Beeler was active in the affairs of the Truro Methodist church, of which she was a long-time member.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Neidt of near Truro; two sons, Carl E. Beeler of near Truro and Billie O. Beeler, at home; three grandchildren; her father Fletcher Porter of Truro; and two sisters, Mrs. Lyle Shutt of Davenport and Lucie Porter of Sioux City.
Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Foster, pastor of the Truro Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
