MARTIN LOGAN DIED TUESDAY IN MISSOURI

Martin S. Logan, former mayor of Winterset and a prominent citizen here for many years, died Tuesday at a hospital in St. Louis, Mo., according to word received here.

Mr. Logan had been living at Webster Grove, near St. Louis for the past several years. He had been seriously ill since last May, and entered the hospital July 13. He had a throat ailment.

Mr. Logan served in Winterset for about 20 years as station agent for the Rock Island railroad. After retiring from service about four years ago, he and Mrs. Logan moved to Webster Grove.

During his residence here, he served on the Winterset city council, and later served several terms as mayor of Winterset. He was active in the Winterset Rotary club, and other community affairs.
