Rites Saturday For FERN SMITH, St. Charles

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines for Fern Smith of St. Charles, who died at his home June 13, 1962, as result of a heart attack. He was 70 years of age.

A native of Milton, Iowa, Mr. Smith had lived in St. Charles the last seven years. Prior to that, he was a resident of Des Moines for 47 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Smith of St. Charles; three daughters, Mrs Dolores Young and Mrs. Dorothy Lyons of St. Charles, and Mrs. Virgle Griggs of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Virgel Bartell of Des Moines; two brothers, Harry Smith of Des Moines anad Raymond Pals of Kanawha; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
