St. Charles Funeral For MRS. RUTH SMITH, 51

Funeral services for Mrs. Dale Smith, age 51, were held Monday, Nov. 11, from the St. Charles Methodist church.

Mrs. Smith died Nov. 9, 1963, at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset.

A daughter of Robert and Mattie Scrivner, she was born Feb. 2, 1912 near Patterson. She was united in marriage to Dale Smith of St. Charles on Feb. 24, 1938. She was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church, and was active in many church projects.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Dale, on July 1, 1962.

Surviving are her husband, one son, Donald of Indianola; two daughters, Helen Bobst of Indianola and Dorothy at home; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scrivner of St. Charles; seven brothers, Ivan, Grant, Guy and Paul, all of St. Charles, Charles of Springfield, Ill., Gene of Norwalk, and Joe of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. May Ewart of Des Moines, Mrs. Mary Peak of Knoxville, and Mrs. Lois Burt of Cedar Rapids.

Officiating at the funeral service was the Rev. Howard Cho, pastor of the St. Charles Methodist church. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
