Daisie Rossina Youmans Smith died Wednesday, April 23, 1980, at the good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola at the age of 89.
Born on July 27, 1891, near Truro, she was the daughter of John and Stella Scott Neidt. She attended Truro schools and on Dec. 1, 1909, was united in marriage to Loren F. Youmans in Madison County. He preceded her in death in 1946, and she was married to William O. Smith in August of 1952, who preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Smith was a retired saleswoman at Robinson's.
Surviving are five children, Veral Youmans of Camanche, Merrill Youmans of Milo, Hazel Greathouse of Clinton, Wyonne Fosselman of Dexter and Ronald Youmans of Des Moines; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Pearson of Osceola; and Lois Lowe of Altoona; and a brother, Marvin Neidt of North Carolina.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Paul and Dale.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Robert Carroll of Milo officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery at Osceola.
