Mrs. Embree Jackson, popular and well known young woman of this community, died suddenly at her farm home near Patterson Wednesday afternoon, March 1. She had been in ill health for an extended period, but her illness had not been regarded as dangerous. Her body was found on a davenport in her home by her husband when he returned from Winterset.

Mrs. Jackson was 35 years of age at her death. She was the former Dorothy Louise Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Johnson, and was born Aug. 18, 1914, at Guthrie Center. She attended grade school at Bayard, and graduated from the Coon Rapids high school with the class of 1933.

She was married to Embree Jackson on July 4, 1937, at Excelsior Springs, Mo. Their married life was spent on the farm east of Patterson where her death occurred.

Her recent church affiliation had been with the Winterset Methodist church, she having transferred her membership there from the Grundy Center Presbyterian church. She was also a member of the Pythian Sister lodge in Winterset.

Surviving are her husband; her father, James C. Johnson of Scranton; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Emmert of Menlo Park, Calif., Mrs. Elsie Shearer of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Helen Gibson of Scranton and Mrs. Christa Peckum of Grundy Center; and two brothers, Hans Johnson of Scranton and Carl Johnson of Florida.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Glen Parrott. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
