MRS. BETTY HOGUE OF TRURO DIES AT 89 YEARS

(Truro--Special)

Mrs. Betty Hogue, a life-long resident of the Truro community, died suddenly here Saturday. Her death came as a result of a stroke, sustained a few hours earlier. She was at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. C. R. Woods.

Mrs. Hogue was 89 years of age.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Kale Funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. Verne R. Willey. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.

MRS. BETTY HOGUE WAS LIFE-LONG RESIDENT

Death Occured at Truro on Feb. 18 at Age of 89 Years

Mrs. Betty Hogue, whose death Feb. 18 was reported last week, was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was 89 years of age.

She was the former Elizabeth Jane Garst, daughter of Samuel and Nancy Garst, and was born March 20, 1860. Her husband, William R. Hogue, preceded her in death, as also did their two children. For the last eight years she had made her home with a granddaughter, Mrs. Opal Woods and family.

She had been a member of the Christian church since early in life.

In addition to her granddaughter, Mrs. Woods, she leaves a great grandson, and one brother, Jacob Garst of Peru.

Funeral services were held at Truro Feb. 21, and burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.
