J. C. RENSHAW DIED SUDDENLY THURS. NIGHT

J. C. Renshaw, longtime resident of Earlham and community, died suddenly at his home west of town, Thursday night, February 2. He spent most of his life farming but at one time was in business in Earlham operating a moving picture theatre and later an implement business. He also served as mayor of the town during his residence.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. S. R. Overholser and interment in the Earlham cemetery.

OBITUARY

James Clyde Renshaw, was the youngest of seven children born to Sylvester and Sarah Hazen Renshaw. He was born on a farm south of Van Meter on July 13th, 1880. He attended country school and later Highland Park College in Des Moines.

In January 1905 he was married to Beulah Bunnell, and to this union two children were born, Marvin, of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Quentin of Council Bluffs. Beulah Renshaw passed away in July 1920. On October 5th, 1928 he married Jessie E. Clarke who survives, together with the two sons. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Edith Bunnell, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He farmed most of his life, the past ten just west of Earlham.

He was a member of the Earlham Presbyterian church and of the Earlham Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.

He was of a bright and cheerful disposition, loved his home and enjoyed his many friends and always made them welcome in his home.

He passed away suddenly at his home on the evening of February 2nd, 1950.
