RUBY A. SMITH, Winterset

Ruby Alice Smith, 93, died of a heart ailment, Sept. 1, 2000, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. Charles Parish Church with the Revs. Bobb Barrick and Darold Snow officiating. Burial was at Linn Grove Cemetery in Warren County.

Ruby Smith was born Aug. 5, 1907, in Madison County to Fred and Elsie (McDonald) Alexander. She married Bruce L. Smith on May 18, 1929, in Shenandoah. A homemaker , she had lived most of her life in Madison County. Ruby was a member of St. Charles Parish Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and twin infants.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Smith (wife Fernette) of Marshalltown, Fred Smith (wife Sandy) of St. Charles and David Smith (wife Bonnie) of New Virginia; two daughters, Joan Files (husband Glen) of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Vera Albreight of Olathe, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
