NELLIE SMITH Funeral Held

Miss Nellie Smith of Springfield, Ill., for whom funeral services were held here last Wednesday, was a native of the Van Meter community, where she was born Sept. 21, 1891. She was a daughter of James S. and Mary F. Howell Smith.

Her death occurred March 26 at a nursing home in Lincoln, Ill., at the age of 81 years.

Nearest surviving relative is a brother, Harry H. Smith of Winterset.

The services were held here Wednesday from the Collins Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Jefferson cemetery
