Mrs. Charles H. Smith, a resident of Winterset for 42 years, died Friday, May 13, 1960, at Memorial hospital here. She was 78 years of age.
Mrs. Smith was the former Nora M. Roberts, and was born at Bonaparte, Ia., on April 19, 1882. She was married at Ft. Madison, on Jan. 25, 1906, to Charles H. Smith. They lived at Webster City, Humboldt and Emmetsburg, before coming to Winterset in 1918.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church here, and of the Columbian club.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Don Smith of Vallejo, California; two daughters, Mrs. Harry D. Young of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. John Vifquain of Des Moines. She also leaves seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, John Roberts of Montrose.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. John Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
